Decorating Lofts
Lofts are any interior designer’s dream canvas. Originally, the conversion of industrial spaces into homes was simply a way to buy a home for less money, but it has now evolved into a rather lavish way of living. Using these abandoned industrials spaces like old warehouses and pavilions has become quite the trend. Of course, most anyone will experience stress when they begin decorating, however the enormity of lofts can often overwhelm interior decorators just as much.
Loft spaces are large, and filled with an industrial air. Remember the large space was once a factory or warehouse, so it still carries that cold vibe of any industrial type place since it is made of cold materials like steals. Floors of polished concrete amplify the sense of space. You can make a loft appear bigger by differentiating spaces by painting the concrete floor varying shades. An excellent tip for decorating lofts is to make your color choices simple, with only a few colors, but make sure they are very intense and bright. Strong, bright colors warm the cold spaces. Oranges, reds and greens are especially great for warming up the kitchens and bathrooms since the overpower the cold feel of the concrete.
As to furniture, keep it spare, and make them big. If too many pieces are place it will result in a disorderly appearance, since everything will be visible in one glance. Once completed, there should be an elimination of a fast paced lifestyle and a voided space.
